New Leadership for Edgewater Markets in Australia
Edgewater Markets has confirmed the appointment of Harry Fry as its Managing Director for Australia, an announcement first made through a LinkedIn post published on Thursday. The hire signals the London-based broker's continued push to deepen its footprint across the Asia-Pacific region, a market where institutional and retail FX demand has accelerated in recent years.
Fry steps into the role after spending close to four years at MAS Group, where he held the title of Head of APAC. In that capacity, he was tasked with building out the firm's commercial operations across the broader Asia-Pacific region, a role that involved both organic growth initiatives and the management of established client relationships.
A Career Built Around Institutional FX and Prime Services
Fry's professional background spans several high-profile names in the institutional trading ecosystem. Prior to joining MAS Group, he spent roughly eight months at Invast Global serving as Director of Prime Services, a position that placed him at the intersection of execution, liquidity, and client onboarding for professional counterparties.
Before Invast, Fry logged more than five years at Finalto, a specialist provider of trading technology. He entered the firm as a Trading Solutions Analyst and subsequently transitioned into an Institutional Business Development seat. According to his LinkedIn profile, in that later role he partnered with the institutional sales team to grow the client book while also retaining and upselling existing accounts. His earlier analyst position focused on client relationship management and day-to-day FX and CFD trade support for institutional clients.
Fry also spent approximately a year and a half at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. He began as a UK Funds Consultant before being promoted to Oversight Analyst, a role in which he was responsible for verifying that institutional positions were correctly reconciled between back-office operations and front-office portfolio managers within mandated timeframes.
Regulatory Expansion and Liquidity Platform Integration
Fry's arrival coincides with a period of significant infrastructure growth at Edgewater Markets. The broker recently secured an Investment Dealer licence from the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius. The authorisation covers a broad set of activities, including securities transactions, principal dealing, investment advice, and portfolio management, giving the firm a more versatile regulatory base for serving institutional and professional clients.
That Mauritian licence followed an earlier expansion of Edgewater's FX technology services to support Gulf Cooperation Council currencies as well as the Egyptian market, broadening the range of instruments and geographies available to its client base.
In a separate development, Edgewater Markets was added to Gold-i's MatrixNET liquidity management platform. Through this integration, counterparties on the MatrixNET network gain access to Edgewater's liquidity across spot FX, precious metals, and non-deliverable forwards, effectively giving the broker a wider distribution channel for its pricing and execution capabilities.
