Freedom24 Sets Sights on Geneva for Strategic Tech Alliances

Freedom24, the retail brokerage division of Nasdaq-listed Freedom Holding Corp. (ticker: FRHC), has confirmed plans to establish a physical presence in Geneva during the first quarter of 2027. Rather than simply extending its existing retail trading platform into a new geographic market, the company is framing the Swiss branch as a strategic hub for building partnerships across the country's financial, academic, and technology sectors. The stated priorities center on applied artificial intelligence, confidential computing, and data governance.

Evgenii Tiapkin, CEO of Freedom24, described the rationale behind choosing Geneva specifically. He noted that the city combines international finance, institutional credibility, and a depth of intellectual capital that aligns with the group's long-term trajectory.

Connecting Kazakhstan's AI Infrastructure to Swiss Research

The Geneva move is not an isolated corporate expansion. According to the company, it is directly linked to Freedom Holding's broader infrastructure ambitions in Central Asia. The parent group is currently constructing what it calls the "Freedom AI Super Cluster" in Kazakhstan, built around NVIDIA B300 hardware. The project is expected to go live in the second quarter of 2027 with an initial capacity of 4 megawatts, with a roadmap to reach 50 megawatts before the end of that year.

This new compute facility layers onto infrastructure the group already operates, including a 6,000-kilometer optical telecommunications network and a cloud services division. Freedom24's stated objective is to use its Geneva office as a bridge between that expanding digital backbone and Swiss academic and research institutions. The company explicitly identified ETH Zurich and EPFL as potential collaboration partners.

Tiapkin elaborated on the complementary strengths: Switzerland offers world-class research, engineering talent, and access to capital, while Kazakhstan is rapidly building out significant AI computing capacity. The overarching goal, he explained, is to help transition emerging technologies out of the laboratory and into commercial-scale applications.

Regulatory Caution and Near-Term Next Steps

From a broker-industry perspective, the most notable signal for traders and market participants is the measured regulatory posture the company has adopted. Tiapkin emphasized that the immediate mandate of the Geneva office is research and technology partnership work, not the launch of localized financial products. Any future retail or institutional financial services offered in Switzerland would be developed strictly within the bounds of applicable Swiss regulatory frameworks.

In the near term, Freedom24 is in the process of hiring a local team and embedding itself in the regional tech community. Company representatives are scheduled to take part in the EPFL Investor Day event in Lausanne later this month, marking one of the first public engagements for the Swiss initiative.
