A New COO at the Helm of Match-Prime Operations

Match-Prime Liquidity announced on Monday the promotion of Vladimiros Spanos to the role of chief operating officer. Spanos transitions from his position at Match-Trade Technologies, where he has spent nearly four years. In his new capacity, he will be responsible for overseeing the operational functions of the Cyprus-regulated liquidity provider, with a mandate that spans pricing strategy, trade execution, risk management, and the configuration of client liquidity arrangements.

Spanos has been active in trading and brokerage technology since 2012, when he joined Marex Spectron as a derivatives trader. His public profile indicates the Match-Prime COO role is dated from August 2026, although Match-Trade's team page still displayed his former title at the time of publication.

A Career Spanning Trading Floors and Broker Operations

According to his LinkedIn profile, Spanos traded futures at Marex Spectron's London office between 2012 and 2014. He subsequently moved into technical support and operations at XValley Technologies, where he served as COO from December 2018 through February 2020. He then spent over two years at Exclusive Capital, progressing from Operations Manager to COO.

Spanos joined Match-Trade as Head of Business Development in October 2022, where he led business development across the company's brokerage technology and liquidity products.

Reflecting on his career trajectory, Spanos stated that trading on order flow had taught him to view liquidity as an integrated picture rather than isolated components. He emphasized that pricing and market depth must be evaluated alongside execution quality, underlying technology, risk controls, and the flow of client funds.

Continuity in Cross-Company Leadership Moves

The appointment of Spanos forms part of an ongoing series of leadership changes spanning both Match-Trade and Match-Prime. In July, Match-Trade elevated Przemyslaw Wojtyna to a newly created chief commercial officer position, consolidating oversight of sales and marketing functions.

A similar cross-entity move took place in 2024, when Michael Nichols transferred from Match-Trade's sales division to assume the CCO role at Match-Prime. Earlier this year, Match-Trade also appointed Serhii Poplavskyi to lead the Match-Trader platform.

Match-Prime CEO Andreas C. Kapsos commented on the appointment, noting that the strongest liquidity relationships are built when both parties have a mutual understanding of each other's business operations.

Regulatory Standing and Product Offering

Match-Prime operates as a brand of MTG Liquidity Ltd, which is registered as a Cyprus investment firm under CySEC license 390/20. The authorization encompasses order reception and transmission, execution on behalf of clients, and dealing on own account for specified financial instruments. The company received its CySEC license in October 2020, with registered offices in both Nicosia and Limassol.

The liquidity provider serves professional clients and licensed entities on a prime-of-prime basis. Its product catalogue reportedly covers more than 2,000 instruments across seven asset classes, underpinned by technology developed by Match-Trade Technologies.

In June, Match-Prime rolled out 24/7 CFDs on gold, silver, oil, and US equity indices, accessible through existing MT4, MT5, cTrader, Match-Trader, and FIX API connections.

The company indicated that Spanos will leverage data from its dealing and risk systems to identify shifts in pricing, execution, and client liquidity configurations. No specific operating targets were disclosed alongside the announcement.
