New MENA Sales Leader Joins Scope Prime
Scope Prime, the institutional-facing unit of Rostro Group, confirmed on Monday that it has appointed Ashraf Mushasha as its institutional sales manager for the Middle East and North Africa region. Based out of Dubai, Mushasha will focus on engaging brokers that require prime-of-prime liquidity and execution infrastructure.
The appointment comes just days after Rostro's retail sister company, Scope Markets, named Ibrahim Hossny as head of research and marketing for the same region on Friday. The back-to-back hires signal a concerted effort by the group to deepen its commercial footprint in one of the most active forex and CFD markets in the world.
Mushasha brings more than four years of experience from Dubai-based liquidity provider LP Prime, where he most recently served as global head of institutional sales, according to his LinkedIn profile. His earlier career includes stints at Ark Capital, Match Liquidity DMCC, and Admiral Markets in Amman, giving him a broad view of both the liquidity and retail-broker sides of the equation.
24/7 Commodity Trading Reshapes Broker Requirements
The hiring is directly tied to a structural shift in trading hours. Scope Prime made its 24/7 gold CFD available to all institutional clients back in March, and followed up in July by adding round-the-clock Brent and WTI crude oil CFDs aimed at brokers and funds that carry energy positions over weekends.
Speaking to the rationale behind the new role, Mushasha noted that the rapid adoption of always-on gold and oil CFD instruments is fundamentally altering the due-diligence questions that MENA brokers must put to their prime-of-prime counterparties. Beyond the traditional focus on execution quality, he stressed that brokers now need to assess how much liquidity remains accessible outside standard market sessions and what capital they are required to post for positions held during those extended hours.
CEO Daniel Lawrance framed the build-out as a natural extension of the firm's institutional offering. "Brokers need people who understand their client flow," he said, underscoring that the MENA sales team is expanding in step with the breadth of Scope Prime's institutional services.
Systematic Internalization and Regional Hiring Track Record
A core element of Scope Prime's value proposition is its pairing of prime-of-prime liquidity with a systematic internalisation engine. The mechanism allows retail and mid-tier brokers to determine which portion of their client flow to retain in-house and which to hedge externally, a decision that becomes increasingly complex as trading windows lengthen.
The firm is not new to the region. In October 2024, Scope Prime recruited Gaby Kanj, a veteran with three decades of industry experience, to oversee MENA client relationships as part of a broader round of senior appointments. Mushasha's arrival builds on that foundation and adds a dedicated liquidity-sales perspective to the team.
Broader Market Trend and Regulatory Setup
The push into 24/7 commodity products is not unique to Scope Prime. On the retail side, Ultima Markets became the fourth broker to list a weekend gold CFD under the XAUUSD247 ticker this month, following earlier moves by Vantage, VT Markets, and STARTRADER. The convergence of institutional and retail offerings around always-on gold underscores a broader industry shift toward extended trading sessions.
Operationally, Scope Prime runs through a number of regulated entities. Its 24/7 gold product was launched via MMCD Resources, which holds a licence from the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles. Brokers evaluating the firm's MENA services should therefore factor in the specific regulatory entity and jurisdiction that will underpin their liquidity arrangement.
